Update

The 2nd year students of the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism program of the City of Malabon University went on a studio tour today, July 10, 2023, in government-owned broadcast media networks as part of their activity in the subject Broadcast Journalism.
Through the initiative of Prof. Jennylyn Tan, BA in Journalism Program Chair, the students had the opportunity to personally watch the live broadcast of Rise and Shine Pilipinas, the morning TV program of Peopleโ€™s Television Network Inc., while observing the different roles played by key persons in broadcast production.
Moreover, BAJ 2A student Carl Luis Candelaria delivered a live spiel on national television, while the rest of the sophomores had the opportunity to appear live in the program, as well as interact with the hosts.
After the program, the students went to explore other broadcast facilities and equipment used in live TV production such as the Technical Operation Center (TOC), studio control room, newsroom, editing bay, and microwave transmitter. Experts in those areas gave a quick rundown of the equipment and how they work.
The Journalism studentsโ€™ tour also included a visit to the Presidential Broadcasting Service – Bureau of Broadcasting Services (PBS-BBS), the governmentโ€™s flagship radio station, where students got to witness firsthand the live broadcasts of Radyo Pilipinas (RP) and other AM and FM stations operating under PBS-BBS.
Mr. Allan Allanigue, Radyo Pilipinas Station Manager, accompanied the students as they visited the master control room, newsroom, and booths of Radyo Pilipinas News and Sports, 87.5 Republika FM, and 104.3 Capitol FM.
These enrichment activities will encourage learning and growth, as the City of Malabon University prepares Journalism students for their careers as media practitioners in the future.
