Update
In celebration of Red Cross Youth Month, the students of the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), with the participation of the second- to fourth-year students of College of Criminal Justice Education and College of Arts and Sciences, came together to make a real difference. On October 22, 2023, with the theme “Blood Heroes: Red Cross Youth Making a Difference,” we held a bloodletting drive at the CMU hall.
The hard work and dedication of these young blood donors resulted in a significant achievement, as a total of 265 bags of blood were successfully donated. The success of this activity was due to the collaborative efforts of the Red Cross Malabon Chapter and the Red Cross Pasay Chapter, which provided essential support and supervision throughout the drive. Cong. Ricky Sandoval, the Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross Malabon Chapter, led this commendable activity with Hon. Jeannie Sandoval, the City Mayor. This event was supported by Dr. Glen DV. De Leon, the University President, Dr. Porfirio Catolico Jr., the NSTP Director, Ms. Shanen Calinawagan, NSTP Coordinator, ROTC Assistant Commandant LTC DAVID S KARGANILLA INF (RES) PA with CWTS Instructors and ROTC Training Staff.
Furthermore, the event’s sponsors, including the City of Malabon Government and the Red Cross Malabon Chapter, provided food and snacks to the volunteers and donors. Pocari Sweat also extended their support to ensure everyone stayed hydrated.
This event exemplified the spirit of giving and solidarity, as the students of CMU left an indelible mark as true “blood heroes.”
