We are proud to announce that the City of Malabon University (CMU) has once again demonstrated its commitment to safety and preparedness as it was chosen as the pilot area for the 4th Nationwide Earthquake Drill. This event showcased the dedication and cooperation of our institution in ensuring that we are ready to respond effectively in the face of potential earthquakes and other disasters.
The City of Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office played a vital role by closely observing and monitoring the entire drill, ensuring that it met the highest standards of safety and organization.
Under the leadership of the Safety and Security office, in collaboration with selected employees and the ROTC cadets, the drill proceeded smoothly and in an organized manner. CMU officials, employees, professors, and students wholeheartedly participated to ensure its success.
The drill commenced with a 30-second alarm, simulating an earthquake. Following the alarm, occupants of all four university buildings were safely evacuated to their designated assembly areas on the grounds. Remarkably, all buildings were cleared in just 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
Dr. Glen DV De Leon, CMU President and Incident Commander, supervised and observed the drill, ensuring its efficiency.
As we conclude this successful earthquake drill, let it serve as a reminder that preparedness and alertness are our greatest allies in facing any disaster. Let us continue to stay prepared and alert!
