The City of Malabon University’s National Services Training Program – Civic Welfare Training Services 2 (NSTP-CWTS) has embarked on a comprehensive community immersion initiative from March 3 to May 5, 2024, aimed at fostering positive change in various barangays within the city.
The initiative commenced with an impactful event in Barangay Baritan, spearheaded by the dedicated students of CWTS 9, under the leadership of their instructor, Prof. Aaron Moneda. The program, supervised by NSTP Director Dr. Porfirio R. Catolico Jr. and NSTP Coordinator Ms. Shanen Calinawagan, gained significant support from CMU President Dr. Glen DV. De Leon, CPA, and the Hon. Jeannie N. Sandoval, City Mayor of Malabon, actively participated in the event.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was a feeding program that successfully served nearly 200 children in Barangay Baritan. This event marks the beginning of a series of activities and programs scheduled to take place in the upcoming weeks, all contributing to the community’s welfare and development until the conclusion of the semester.
The NSTP office extends heartfelt appreciation to the City Government of Malabon, CMU Administrators, Barangay Officials of Baritan, dedicated instructors, the 1301st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, and, above all, to the diligent students of CWTS 9, whose commitment and enthusiasm have made this community engagement initiative a resounding success.
