In a collaborative meeting held on February 16, 2023, at CMU Hall, participants discussed the Phase I implementation of the partnership project with DOST NCR, which involves the installation of a smart hydroponics system in the adopted communities of the City of Malabon University, specifically the Bahay Sandigan and Bahay Pag-asa in Malabon City. The meeting was attended by officials from the City of Malabon University, headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Glen DV De Leon, Vice President for Administration and Finance Engr. Baby Ruth Senaida, Quality Assurance & Internal Audit Office Director and the Executive Assistant to the President Prof. Jeffrey Benesisto, Head for Business Development Partnerships and Linkages Prof. Myrwyn Bautista and Research and Extension Director Dr. Allie Agustin. A representative from the Malabon City Government Ms. Joan Rosete, Executive Secretary to the Mayor was also present, as well as representatives from DOST-NCR Ms. Jonalyn Morales, and Ms. Carmel Erika L. Mammag.
Through this project, our partnered community will be able to access fresh, healthy produce, while creating jobs for the community and empowering economic development. Additionally, implementing a smart hydroponics system in a community can have a positive impact on the health and well-being of its residents, as well as its economic and environmental sustainability.
