STATEMENT OF THE CITY OF MALABON UNIVERSITY ON THE BOMB THREAT OF AUGUST 15, 2025

The City of Malabon University (CMU) welcomes the Resolution issued by the Office of the City Prosecutor of Malabon finding probable cause to charge the respondent in connection with the bomb threat incident that disrupted university activities on August 15, 2025.

The Resolution represents a significant development in the pursuit of accountability and demonstrates that threats to the safety and security of our academic community are taken seriously by the authorities. CMU expresses its appreciation to the Philippine National Police, the Anti-Cybercrime Group, and all other agencies involved in the investigation for their diligence and professionalism in handling this matter.

From the outset, CMU has remained steadfast in its commitment to protecting the welfare of its students, faculty members, personnel, and visitors. The University immediately coordinated with law enforcement authorities, implemented appropriate security measures, and cooperated fully with the investigation to ensure that the incident was properly addressed.

The safety and security of our students remain our highest priority. CMU will continue to strengthen its security protocols, emergency preparedness measures, and coordination with law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment for all members of the University community.

While we recognize that judicial and prosecutorial proceedings must be respected and allowed to take their course, this development sends a clear message that acts intended to threaten, disrupt, or endanger educational institutions, particularly CMU community, will not be tolerated.
